Mama tierra 2013





This piece is made from a small tree.  When I found it, it looked as if something had ripped it in half along its entire length, exposing wood grain on one side and bark on the other.  Toward the base of the tree, the bark surrounded the trunk completely and it took on the natural cylindrical shape typical of most trees.
